The Surveyors Account

A thorough account of your home – the people, the records, and the world that shaped them.
We draw on a broad sweep of sources, trade directories, land tax records, newspaper archives, and probates to build a richly contextualised account of your home and the lives woven through it. The report is written as a real story for each occupant.

The Muniment Room

WHAT’S INCLUDED

A muniment room was where estate owners kept their most important deeds and records, bundles of vellum that told the entire story of a place. 40 hours of research allows us to get close to that completeness. We exhaust all research methods resulting in a hardbound book, framed print and PDF, produced to heirloom standard.

The age, location, and type of your property makes a significant difference to how much we’re likely to find. Pre 1850 rural properties often yield far richer than post-war urban homes (but not always). Email us at vogelancestry@gmail.com before committing and we’ll give you an honest assessment of what’s realistic, and which package makes the most sense to begin with.

Bespoke & gift commissions

If you need a focused piece of research (a single deed period, a question about one former occupant, or a short history for a specific purpose) we take on bespoke commissions outside these packages at £25 per hour with a defined scope agreed upfront.
